On Wednesday morning, an attack occurred on Delhi's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta during a 'Jan Sunwai' event held at her office in Civil Lines. This information was confirmed by the Chief Minister's office.
A senior police official reported that the assailant slapped the Chief Minister. The suspect was promptly apprehended and is currently being interrogated. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for North Delhi and other senior officials were present at the scene.
According to sources from the Delhi police, the attacker has been identified as Rajesh Bhaiyaji from Rajkot, Gujarat. The motive behind the assault remains unclear, but authorities are investigating all possible angles.
Following the incident, several senior officials, including the DCP of North Delhi, arrived at the site to assess the security arrangements at the Chief Minister's office. This unexpected event has caused a stir throughout the area.
